LAVA WOOVEN STOOL
Seating Stool
Based on the emblematic chair originally developed for the Rocasal project, the LAVA version acquires more volume by experimenting with the materials it’s composed of (paper and tabebuia rosea wood) and it is stained in colors that emulate the different types of volcanic rock. The chair, armchair and stool from the LAVA collection are directly inspired by the popular Mexican chair of mestizo origin which is painted in bright colours and has a seat in woven tule, characteristic of the vernacular furniture from the State of Mexico, in particular the region of Toluca and Tenancingo, where the men commonly carve and assemble the wooden structure and the women weave and give it its coloured finish.
